Sandwell’s Community of Practice has brought together churches, community groups and our local authority to address homelessness in Sandwell.

Community of Practice is a multi-agency forum with 85 members from a wide range of local churches, voluntary sector organisations, public services and Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. We are a member of Homeless Link, which is the national membership charity for organisations working directly with people who become homeless in England.

We’ve been learning from a local faith-based organisation in a neighbouring borough. (For more information, click here.) A key development from this has been how our local authority has recognised the expertise and motivation of faith-groups and is now partnering with us in a new strategic way.

Homeless or at risk of losing your home

Sandwell council's first priority is to prevent you from losing your home so the earlier you get in touch the more successful we're likely to be. They also have a host of information available on their website to assist in either preventing an individual becoming homelessness or assisting you if you are already homeless.
