Managing household bills and coping with debt can be very stressful. Getting free, impartial and confidential information is important to help you make the right decisions for you and your family.

There are lots of services offering free advice on dealing with debt, as well as advice and information on how to make your money stretch further, how to build up savings and how to cope with the rising costs of everyday living.

CCR

Covid Cash Recovery

COVID Cash Recovery (CCR) was a free online course which up-skilled churches, charities, community leaders and organisations to provide information and resources, to help their communities recover from money issues that have arisen due to COVID-19.

Although no longer being offered as a National Course, material and resources are still available which community groups may find helpful in training, to help others through giving accurate information and signposting. The resources that are available and that the workshop covered include General entitlements, Universal Credit, Budgeting, Government and charitable grants, Money strategies for making it through these next few months, Help with bills & Debt.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP)

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) provides free debt help and local community groups across the UK. Their free services, run with local churches, provide practical and emotional support and show people that there is always hope. If you’re looking for help to get out of debt, Christians Against Poverty provides a range of free services across the UK through local churches.

CMA

Community Money Advice (CAM)

Community Money Advice (CMA) is a national charity committed to supporting churches and community groups who have a passion to help people overcome their money problems. CMA provides all the resources, training and support needed to establish and maintain local, free, face to face money advice services.

Each year, their centres help thousands of people, from all walks of life, escape from the blight of indebtedness by providing free, unconditional, fully confidential advice and practical support. Their fully trained Debt Advisers & Money Mentors offer advice specific to individual need and they give as much time and support as required, in order to help become debt free, whilst working towards financial stability.

Citizen's Advice

Citizen's advice are often a person's first "go to" for general advice and there is good reason for this. Citizens Advice believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice. That’s why they’re there: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem. This includes financial and budgeting, debt management and soluntions and they are open to all.
