How can you get involved?

Kayte Cronin, Community Engagement Safeguarding Officer with Sandwell Children's Safeguarding Partnership, is keen to offer support to the faith sector in regards to all matters Safeguarding.

Kayte holds a monthly safeguarding network meeting which is face to face for the voluntary, community and faith sector groups in Sandwell. The focus is obviously on safeguarding however, it is an opportunity to network, share practice, seek support and identify how as a sector we can safeguard the children and young people in the communities.

She has developed a template with guidance which is available to support organisations to review / write a safeguarding policy and procedures.

Smethwick Church Network had this to say about their partner working with Kayte:

"The cost-of-living crisis has seen us experience a significant increase in people needing our support, and with this has invariably come a rise in safeguarding concerns and complexities. Having Kaytes support has been invaluable, whether that is a quick conversation about a specific situation or supporting with our policies and procedures. Just knowing there is somone at the end of the phone who understands the voluntary and faith sector, and the wider safaeguarding concerns across Sandwell, is a massive asset to any organisation. In addition, the regular safeguarding meetings allows closer, more meaningful partnerships between the voluntary and faith sector and statutory services. Thank you Kayte, for your continued support"
