CAP join Sandwell Churches Link

We are very excited to be welcoming CAP workers Sarah and Maria onto the staff at SCL, as we take on CAP Sandwell as one of our main projects. Our vision is to provide CAP Debt Help to the whole of Sandwell , with a CAP debt coach in each of the six Sandwell towns. The project will also work closely in partnership with Citizens Advice and other Community Money Advice models across Sandwell.

CAP are looking for volunteer befrienders.
Sarah writes:
"One in five people live in poverty. This will be a reality for people in your congregation or your community. But at CAP we continue to see clients going debt free, with 69 clients going debt free in total in Sandwell so far! Lives are being transformed with generational impact and new-found freedom.
We are looking for volunteer befrienders in each of the 6 towns in Sandwell. Please consider if you know anyone who would be ideally suited to this role. They would need to have the following:

● Great relationship-building skills
● Non-judgemental and caring attributes
● Passion about helping people and bringing hope to them
● Trustworthiness in keeping confidential information
● Agreement with CAP’s core values and statement of faith
● Willingness to pray with the local CAP team
● Understanding of the concept of keeping good boundaries
● A heart and passion for the charity and the local church.
