Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a charity that provides free debt help across the UK. They have been helping people for 30 years.
Poverty is so much more than going without. It’s so much more than lacking materially. Poverty destroys lives. It robs people of joy, hope and opportunities. It tears families apart, isolates those most in need of support. Poverty leads many to believe there is no way out. Before seeking help, 1 in 2 of our clients had considered or attempted suicide.

No matter how large or small your problem is, Christians Against Poverty (CAP)can help. Their free, expert debt help will advise on the best route out of debt, and offer different types of support to help you become debt free.
The first step is often the hardest, but it’s really worth it. Asking for help can be daunting. Particularly for many people who have reached a crisis point before calling to book an appointment. Acts 435
Acts 435 is a Christian charity that works with churches and local charities across the UK to help people facing financial hardship with practical, everyday needs.
Sometimes it can be one unexpected cost that makes an already difficult situation feel impossible. A broken washing machine, school uniform, essential furniture or travel costs can quickly become a real worry when there simply isn’t enough money to cover them.
Sandwell Churches Link is proud to be an Acts 435 partner, helping us provide another layer of practical support alongside the work we already do with Christians Against Poverty.
What does Acts 435 do?
Acts 435 works through local churches and charities, like Sandwell Churches Link, who already know and support people within their communities.
When someone has an urgent practical need, an Acts 435 Advocate can post a request on their behalf for up to £200. Donors can then choose a request they would like to support and give towards it through the Acts 435 website.
Once the request has been fully funded, the money is sent to the partner organisation so that the item or support needed can be provided.100% of every donation made towards a request goes directly towards meeting that person’s need. Acts 435 can work particularly well alongside CAP. While CAP helps people find a route out of debt and towards greater financial stability, Acts 435 can sometimes help meet an immediate practical need along the way.

Support through Acts 435 is accessed through one of their local partner churches or charities. Sandwell Churches Link is an Acts 435 partner and can submit eligible requests on behalf of people we are supporting.
