Meet the Funder: Buttle UK

SCVO is excited to announce Buttle UK’s Grants Development Officer, Janitah Salmon is coming virtually to Sandwell to discuss their current funding opportunities aimed at supporting children and young people.

Easter in a Box: The Movie – Training Sessions

A creative resource that guides children through the Easter story using film clips, objects, and moments of reflection. This training equips participants to use the resource confidently in schools, encourage meaningful discussion, and support children as they explore themes of hope, courage, and new life.​

A brand-new introductory FE and HE chaplaincy training course launches in Spring 2026.

  • Presentations by course authors Nigel Roberts and Dr Sarah Holmes, and by FE chaplain Maggie Everett
  • Option to share your chaplaincy experience to enhance course content*
  • FE Chaplaincy networking event included
  • Nigel Roberts’ course text The Good Chaplain available to buy for £5 on the day (50% discount) for those attending in person
  • Cost: £10 per head, inc. lunch (but please get in touch if cost is a barrier)

On the day, we will be filming the presentations and vox pops from delegates, to add more material to the course content. There’s an opportunity for you to share your experiences and perspectives – equally there is no pressure to do so. It’s your choice, and we won’t film you without your permission. The course will then become fully available online from Spring 2026.

Meet the Expert: Easyfundraising

SCVO are pleased to announce easyfundraising’s Partnerships Manager, Becky Coleman will be coming to explain how changing your organisations and networks online shopping habits can support your fundraising goals.

Easyfundraising is the UK’s biggest charity shopping site, it is simple and free to use! Since 2005 they have helped thousands of good causes turn everyday shopping into free donations.

Praying for Your Local School

A practical session exploring simple, accessible ways to pray intentionally for your local school community. This includes how to pray with insight, how to build rhythms of prayer within a church, and how prayer can strengthen relationships with schools.

Natalie Cunningham, Grants Officer for the Severn Trent Community Fund, is coming virtually to Sandwell on Thursday 23rd April 2026, 10am–11.30am, via a Zoom conference call.

She’ll talk to attendees about their 2026 grants programme – core funding, new project funding, and, brand new for this year, Kits for Kids! This online session will enable you to connect directly with the funder, ask any questions you may have and receive tailored advice about your project idea enabling you to build a much stronger case for any potential investment prior to submitting your application.

Jesus Out of the Box – Training Sessions

An interactive storytelling resource that helps children explore who Jesus is through hands‑on objects, creative activities, and reflective conversation. These sessions equip participants to use the resource confidently in schools and to create engaging, age‑appropriate encounters with the story of Jesus.
